About the Initiative

The World Bank’s Knowledge for Development (K4D) Program has identified ‘Four Pillars’ of the knowledge economy: education and a skilled labor force, development of innovative capacity, ICT infrastructure, and a proper regulatory environment. This conference will establish an Afro-Asian network, which will consistently enhance and develop each of these pillars thus making sustainable progress towards achievement of a knowledge economy in the region.
